Tonight my 02 Ranger went crazy. I put the keys in to start it and it started turning over and wouldn't stop. Even after the keys were out of the ignition the engine was still turning over. If I turned the key all the way it started but when I turned it back to shut it off the turning started again. While I was under the hood trying to figure out how to get it to stop it finally started to slow down and finally stop. It almost sounded like it died. I am afraid to start it up again and kill something. HELP!!!!

Hey I bought and installed a new ignition switch and it is still happening. I also tried to see if maybe some corrosion on the battery cables was causing it. Anything else I can try???

When you turn the key it tries to start but even after the engine has started it keeps clicking likes it is trying to start. If you turn the key off after trying to start it it keeps clicking as well. I changed out the ignition switch but the same thing is still happening.
