I had my 2005 Five Hundred towed to the dealer the other day because it wouldn't start... they did say there was a "cold start" update and that was done... I think they "saw me comin' " though... they sold me on a number of maintenance items... I'm religous about the maintenance on my vehicles... even though I'd had the injectors flushed/serviced last October (just 3 months ago) they said they needed to be done again...  they also said my rear differential oil smelled "burned" and needed to be serviced...

My question(s)... did the service writer "see me comin'...?" or do I have serious injector and differential problems...  I've got 35,775 miles on the car and it's still (barely) under warranty...)

I would contact the local ford representative, thru the dealer and even the service writer that sold you the goods.  If anything is wrong with your vehicle under it's original warranty, it must be repaired under warranty.  Ask the service writer to show you where in the owner's manuel that it says you have to service the injectors or rear differential as a maintance item.  Do you have an All Wheel Drive?  I would ask the service manager, if your service writer says you have a problem with the injectors and rear diff, then why isn't it covered under your warranty?  Don't pay for maintance that is not needed. Always ask to see that item on the maintance schedule put out by ford.  It is also in your owner's manual.
