I am trying to wire a 2008 Escape for a Fire Department Response Car and I cannot locate the horn and horn ring leads (wires) under the dash leading from the steering column or under the driver's side dash to the horn assembly. None of the Chilton Wiring Diagrams I have show the horn and horn ring wires on them. Does anyone know where the wires are located under the dash and what color the horn and horn ring wires are??? Thanks,
CPT J. Hurt

First let me say, be very careful about tapping into wires on this vehicle as it has air bags. There is no horn ring, the horn switch sends a signal thru the clockspring to the horn relay, the relay is what energizes the horn. Not sure what you are tapping into, do you need to power the horn, or what? The wire color to the horn itself is yellow/red. The input from the switch to the horn relay is brown.
Any wire loom you find wrapped in yellow, is for the air bag system and should not be tampered with.
