well about 7pm I heard a god awful noise out front, My oldest son had pulled up in a 1973 Maverick he just bought for $600.00, Had a big ole grin on his face ear to ear, She got a 302 ,with a 2 bbl in her , too bad its a 4 door , body is fair . Looks like she has been neglected for quite a spell. Well guess I had better go clean off the work bench------

Old memories. I swapped a friend of mine back in the 70's for a 1970 Maverick with a 170 inline 6 and 3 on the tree. I liked the car but it didn't have enough grunt to go up hill on a major interstate highway without downshifting. I swapped out the 170 for a 250 out of a Mustang and put in an 11 inch flywheel and clutch and that car would run like a raped ape. 30 plus miles to the gallon too. I liked it so much I bougt a new Grabber in 1973 with a 302 and 3 speed, which quickly became a 4 speed. Built a pro stock out of the first one with a 428 CJ and ran in the high 9's. Then got married (stupid, stupid, stupid) and then everything went away.
