CB radio install

LPW -> CB radio install (3/16/2008 1:16:04 PM)

Finding it hard to find a good place to mount my CB so I used a "saw" mount and it sits on the floor of my F250 (2006), with a bench seat. Can anyone tell me how to wire the power so Idon't get the RPM's from the alternator? Is there any way to reduce the noise?

In my 03 I wired mine to the accessory wires and have not had any issues with interference.

I installed myne underneath my dashboard in the center by my 4x4 shifter on my
93 f250. I wired it to my ignition and the only noise I get on it is my strobes but only if my squelch is down really low

You can run a coax type cable (RG-59) directly from the battery to the CB.  Connet the sheild to the ground - negative and the center wire to the positive at the battery.  On the other end at the CB only connect the positive for the power and cut the sheild back a but and tape it off.  You will need to ground the radio to the chassis.  This should work to eliminate the engine whine.  The bad part is it doesnt shut off when the rig is off so you you could accedentaly leave it on and drain the battery.
