Hi all -

Any suggestions for better than OEM rotors?  I looked at FrozenRotors and they seem good.   The stock rotors warp so easily and it's annoying - 35k on van and dealer has replaced rotors 3x under warranty.   Next time I will do the brakes myself and want better parts.  Any suggestions or experience with other rotors is appreciated.

Thx
Jack

What year Freestar?  Which rotors?

Your problem may be with the calipers.  I know the 2004 Freestars had an issue with the front calipers hanging up causing the brakes to overheat and warp the rotors.  The rear calipers would hang up and cause excessive brake/rotor wear.  I had the calipers, pads and rotors replaced 3 times under warranty on my 04 until they finally installed the updated calipers.  I'm looking at getting some drilled units and ceramic pads for a four corners this spring.  Haven't chosen any MFGs yet.

I have an 06 as well, live 15 miles from NYC. Wife is a brake dragger (ie I get 45-60k on non metallic she get 35-45K on the same type of pads). I have just about 30K, of which 6k has been towing an 1800lb popup. I have not had any issues with the brakes and am on the original pads.

Ive always had good luck with Carquest rotors.  Just make sure you get the good American-made ones, not the cheap Chinese ones.
