I have a '77 C6 transmission that I am replacing the torque converter and re-installing behind my 460 cu. in engine in my '85 F150.

My manual indicates that the transmissin fluid should be Dexron II.

I have heard that the Type F fluid is a better fluid than Dexron II with respect to heat and friction.

Does anyone know if it is possible to use the type F fluid instead of the Dexron II fluid or am I asking for trouble?

Thank You in advance.
