I have a 2004 f-150.(5.4litter) I had a ticking noise in my moter, I was told it was the Cam Phasers going out. Ihad the work done, and now...14,000 miles later the same noise is back. What would make them go bad so soon?

whats a cam phaser?  my 5.4 makes a loud ticking noise that will come and go until fully warmed up.  Once the engine is hot it wont do it.  I was told it was the hydraulic valve lash adjusters, is that the same as a cam phaser?

Did you have the solenoid changed out or the complete gear assembly?  Usually the problem is wrong oil, but if your having your work done at a dealer, then I would guess they are using the correct oil, 5W20 Synthetic Motorcraft.
