Hello:

I have a 1975 E270 cutaway van Eldorado RV. It is geared very low in the rear end so on the highway the engine revs high at 60mph. I was wondering if I put larger diameter wheels and tires on it, would this lower my engine rpm when going the same 60mph? I was thinking about going from 8.75R16.5 to 9.50R16.5. Would this diameter difference of 1 inch make an improvement? Or should I just go to a 17" wheel and applicable tires?

your help is appreciated,
thanks.
