my friend is selling is 01 p71. im thinking about buying it and putting in a triton 5.4L. just seeing if anyone on here has done or heard of this. most likely ill by getting the engine from a junkyard. wondering what the best year engine to get would be. also what issues i would run into. ive hear clearence issues with the hood. motor mounts? and ive never done a transplant on a car that had a computer, can i keep the original or should i take the one from the jusk yard? any one help me??

I have heard of this kind of swap although i have never seen it done. As with all engine swaps i think that you will need to fabricate new engine mounts as for the hood i couldn't tell you with out looking at the engine. As computers go you will need to swap computers to deal with the changes in the amount of fuel that is injected into the engine as well as the cooling system amoung other thing's that change with the engine.
