If you had the tool installed and the cams 'locked' (zero movement) during the complete alignment proceedure, and with the crank position checked with the lower cover or key pointing straight up and didn't move, and needed to rotate the exhaust hub/sprocket slighty to achieve the correct tooth to sprocket contact with the belt, then once the tool is removed the exhaust cam may be slightly over center.. Key word is slightly.. To check, with the belt in tension, crank locked #1 TDC position, you should be able to put a wrench on the cam hex area, and check for cam time/centers by moving the exhaust cam back to center and reinstall the tool in both cam slots.. Should be a small amount of movement...
