03 bucking when accelerating

When I accelerate in OD the truck bucks really hard and the tranny is trying to hunt for the gear. It loses power and then after some struggles it makes it the next plateau and starts all over again. If I put it in Drive it is fine for the most part but every once in awhile it happens Anyone at all have any ideas????? I have the CAT trouble code P0430 but that is recent and they seem to be independent of one another. I am wondering if I am looking at a tranny problem or a tranny part problem or neither HELP!!! this is my everyday ride New parts TPS, fuel filter, battery, cleaned all the coils and all coils are reading 12 volts Thanks in advance for any help!!!

i had a similar problem and it took months to figure out because 2 of the 3 parts i replaced ended up malfunctioning or defective. One was even a dealer item. I had to replace the egr valve the dpfe sensor and the egr controller. it would always code out the erg flow insuffiecent. i had 3 different garages working on it. what a pain. i at first thought it was my transmission also but i guess it was the flow of the gas regulating that caused the "surges" is what i called it.
