I had a Check Engine light on my 3.0 L 2000 Ford Ranger for a while. The parts store told me to replace the Mass Air Flow sensor. Now that I have done that, the truck won't start. I tried using some 'throttle cleaner', it started but wouldn't stay running for more than a few seconds. Any ideas??

Thats very ODD !!!!! , could be the wrong sensor , could be a defective sensor , just cause its new dont mean its good -- Have you tried to replace it with the old sensor to see if it will start then ??? , If it does then your new one is bad !!!

Hey Ramrod, It sounds like you may have been bitten by the old bad new part bug too. Don't you hate it when that happens. Makes you start second guessing your diagnosis until you get the nerve to try the same part again.

Thanks for your help! I took the sensor back to the parts store, they replaced it as defective and when I installed it the truck started right up.
