About 2 weeks ago, I changed my transmission filter in my 95 Mark VIII, and added a
container of Lucas transmission additive. I used Dexron III/Mercon, as
I always have. Now, it seems to slip a bit, and sometimes seems like it
doesn't downshift as quick as it used to. It does not have the
typical "shudder". It seems to feel a little better the longer the car
is driven.
The car has about 115k miles, and I know that this transmission has had
regular fluid changes througout it's life. I last changed it a little
over a year ago, same fluid, and Lucas. I have been using the Lucas in
hope that it would stop a slight leak that I have at the front pump
(which it hasn't helped). I did not do a complete "flush", just changed
what comes out when I drop the pan.
I am wondering if i should drain the fluid, and maybe drain is from the
torque converter too...
Any suggestions?
Also, does a 96 Mustang V8 transmission fit my car? (just in case)
Thanks.

I am not pro any additive that calls itself a leak stopper as this results in the swelling and eventual break down of good rubber seals by turning them into mush

take her to jiffy lube and do a complete fluid exchange. you gotta get all the old stuff out and i mean every drop. try changing the filter and screens. sometimes the old fluid dont like the new fluid.
