What the best/easiest way to tell if you have a Saginaw or Ford power steering box?? I need to rebuild mine and not sure which it is?

A repair book would not only ID it - but would help in the repair. Otherwise clean start with cleaning it up and look around for a nameplate or code numbers if there are any. Also make a note of lengths and distances and widths, shaft sizes, etc. for reference.

Thanks....I  guess I was hoping someone with expereince could share a point of differentiation that would make it easy to tell the difference on sight. I guess not...so I'll get the book out.[:(]

Not much traffic on here....
anyways, if someone checks ....it says FoMoCo on the Ford ones and not on sag's.
