Blower motor resistor

mrdgzpm -> Blower motor resistor (5/16/2008 3:28:34 PM)

My local dealer diagnosed my blower motor problem in my 2003 Taurus as just needing to replace a resistor. He said it's a $20 part and $150 labor. Is this something I can do myself?

Pretty simple job with just a few simple tools.. I can help you with the proceedure if needed.. The finish/insulator access panel needs to be removed from the passenger foot/lower dash area.. Then working upwards, the resistor is mounted right next to the blower motor assembly inserted into the plenum.. Is the blower function working on 'high' only?

Thanks for your help and yes the motor is working on high only and only intermittently.
