I bought the Hanes book for this van but it does not have a section on this subject. Could someone help out this poor soul? Unless I should be looking into something else to solve this puzzle. The brake pressure switch mounted on the master cylinder is a very common failure for the speed control not activating.. RE: 1997 E-150 cruise control prob. - 5/19/2008 10:01:57 AM    shadybiz11   Posts: 3 Score: 0 Joined: 4/22/2008 Status: offline I changed out my clock spring this weekend.  I had to pull off the steering wheel and it is right there.  It took me about an hour to change out.  It fixed my airbag, horn and speed control all at once. I don't know about the air bag and to be honest, I hate air bags. The thought of that thing popping open on my face just ills me.
