I have a 92' Ford Ranger 2.9 V6 with 248,000 miles. The engine needs to be replaced. It has all the symptoms of a cracked cylinder head.

Right now it overheats every time I drive it. The temp gauge does not redline and the warning light does not come on. but the temp needle runs in the top 10% of the gauge. I am probably going to replace the engine next week.

Will the excessive heat warp the exhaust manifold, valve covers, and the metal air intake/throttle body thing over the engine? If these get warped are they expensive to replace?

Thanks,
Dave
