I have a 97 Grand Marquis.  Where do I replace the orifice tube?  A Mechanic told me it is between the cold ______?  and the Hot_____?  I assume this is the tube that comes from the compressor.  He said it may be under the plastic  piece on the very front of the car?

It looks pretty easy to install.  I just dont know where it goes.
Can anyone assist me with this or is it best just to take it in?

Welcome to the site..

Its in the line going into the evaporator/drier.. You'll need to release/remove any (pressure) charge, then use a disconnect tool to release the quick connect coupler.. The orifice can usually be pulled straight out with needle nose, wire ect...

Something wrong with the picture attachments/application. email me if you'd like to see the pic..
