2001 Expedition 4.6L AOD Trans.
Dropped Tranny pan and found a round plastic ball (1") with a short stem sitting in the pan fluid. Is this something left over from factory or anyone know where this goes? The ball has an o-ring on it so I question where it goes before I beging buttoning back up the Tranny Pan.

This part has caused this question to be asked countless number of times.  It is used on the assembly line to seal the hole that the dipstick tube goes into.  When the tube is inserted, the plug drops into the pan.
