144 ci starts and runs as long as starter is engaged - 6/5/2008 1:36:03 PM    deano1960falcon Posts: 7 Score: 0 Joined: 5/11/2008 Status: offline Can anyone help me out? I have a 1960 falcon with a 144ci. When I try to start the car the engine starts and runs untill I let off the key. I have also have turned the key to run and the jumped the solinod and it does the same thing. I do have power to the coil and the points when the key is in the run position. Any suggestions? Try turning up the carburetor idle screw a touch maybe. (in reply to deano1960falcon) Post #: 2
