I'm attempting to run a 75 comet in the demo derby this year and have run into a major problem, while wiring up a pushbutton I lost spark from the coil, everything else works as it should, the solenoid and the battery have been moved to the passenger side floor board and after many tips from several local parts stores and having no luck, I'm seeking any advise possible, the car cranks fine, push button and switches all function properly and fuel is getting up to the carb. any one have any ideas about why this car is being such a pain in my rear?

Hummm , do you have power going to the coil with the key on ? ,, if you still have points in this girl , its the points as they open an close, that trip the circuit , If you put a test lite on the neg side of the coil as you crank the eng, it should flash . If you have a electronic Ign , the pick-up module in the dist does the same thing . , if you have no power to the coil , then run you a hot wire over to it an see what it does .

I would suggest rethinking your choice of vehicles for the demo derby.
--What kinds of vehicles do you see at the derbys? - LARGE AMURIKAN IRON.
--Your little Comet will get squished.
--Find a big 'ol Mercury Monterey.

Just noted this is VERY old post.
Well......you're probably out of the hospital by now..........
