2007 f150 extended cab 4x4.grinding noise not all the time sounds like 4 wheel drive trying to engage.stops only when you slow down then makes a bang from front end.ant ideas?

return to the dealer and have it checked out befor you attempt to fix this issue. This truck should still be under warrenty.

i realize its under warranty,was just looking to see if anybody had the same problem.noise is getting more fequent.made a appointment for thursday see what they find.

hey man sorry if i came off ignorant in my previous post. The fords are bad about dirr and transfer case issues most likely the grinding is comming from bad bearing in the front diff.

got my truck back from the dealer.was the vaccum actuator for the 4 wheel drive shorted internally.
