hey guys,

i''''m looking at my neighbors 02 windstar for a powersteering leak.the acual pump itself shows no sign of leaking,but coming from the resivor located near the drivers side inner fender.the pump is completely dry but making the usal powersteering pump whine when the steering wheel is turned either direction.any reason why the resivor would be leaking and not the pump itself?the resivor/container is soakin wet around the lid and the whole thing,including the fenderwell.i checked to make sure the lid was on tight also.thanks everyone!!

If he added fluid it may have pushed it out when he shut the car off. It takes some time to get the air out of the system if it ran low. Check to see if the rack is leaking.
