The problems started one morning it would hardly start it was running great when parked the night before. sometimes it will start and run fine and sometimes it will start and act as if it is skipping and then start to fade out and shuts off even if you push the peddle to the floor. when it will not crank i pulled the top of the filter on the engine and it was empty. i bled the air out with the same cranking results.when it cranks fine it will run all day with no problems until it sets for a few houres than it is hit or miss on it running. here is what has been done to the truck. both crank and cam sensor has been changed. fuel tank pulled and cleaned. both filters changed. new fuel pump. Does anyone have a fix for this problem thanks Jimmy

I had this same problem but it was the front cam shaft SENSOR!  I was told there was two but I just fixed the one right underneath the engine.  If yours is the 7.3 that should be covered under a recall.  I had the 6.0 so I had to pay for mine.
