16 psi , yea something dont sound right , If your using steel worm gear style clamps , an tighten them good , they will hold WAY MORE then 16 psi,,, { We had a wash bay for heavy equipment at one place I worked it had a 4" hose with a working pressure of 45psi , we had reg. ole hose clamps on it , they held fine } ,, And ask anyone here that is a TECH. An they will tell you , at one point We have had to use a hose clamp on the air line fitting, for shop air , We ran ours at 150 psi . ,,,,, So not seeing the car , make sure you got all the clamps tight , put the clamp up past the thicker ridge on the tube/ nipple etc that the hose slids over , that helps the clamp seal an stay in place . To remove the air , , , you can allways pull the heater hose off as you fill the engine that should expel any air in the system as you fill the RAD. once it starts pouring out the heater hose you know the block is full , add coolant till its roughly at least 80% in Rad. install cap , start car run it at 2000rpm for 3-4 minutes, watch your gauge. shut car off , LET IT COOL !!!!!, then remove the cap an top system off,,,,, Iam just hoping you havent cracked a head an its pumping Engine Compression onto the Rad. an thats whats going on ,, Have you pulled the dip stick on the engine an looked at the oil to see if its milky , or way over full ???? , Let us know what you find , Good Luck ...
