I think the tranny on my ''98 5.4L EB Expy died today - I heard/felt a crunch sound, lost my "Drive" gear and barely made it home by shifting into 2 - it was on its way out as well. Parked it in my driveway, looked underneath and saw the tranny fluid dripping out - looked down the road and saw the trail of fluid. Checked the fluid level and sure enough, it''s all gone.

In the likely event I need a new (rebuilt) tranny, can anyone recommend a place? I live in NYC and other than AAMCO (ripoff) don''t know where else to look for these. I checked Jasper''s, but they want $2300+, although they come with a 3 year warranty. I''ve also come across some other places such as rebuilttransmissions.com, rhinoengines.com, Phoenix, etc - they have a 1 year warranty. Any comments about these and/or recommendations of others?

Thanks for your help.
