How easy should the fuel lines on my 94 be to remove at the filter? I want to change this and they are supposed to be quick connect and look like they should pull right off after you remove a clip on each side. The lines will move some on the filter but won't slide in or out. What is the easiest way to relieve my fuel pressure on the this truck? This is my first F150. Had 2 Rangers before this.

You need a special lil tool to release the clips { like chinese fingers inside } The tool is like $10.00 any auto parts store, release pressure at the shrader valve on the fuel line

The clips come off easy enough but I am left with the steel lines. There is a little grove around the edge of the filter tubes that go in and out and that seems to click into the line. I think maybe the 94 -96 models are like this. The lines will wiggle around on the filter but won't slide off. Should they just pull off? I don't really think it would be this easy but I don't see any other way. This is also what it reads in my manual.

Yes ,,, , After you remove the elongated C style clamps off the outside of the Filter An the Steel Lines ---- You need the special tool to release the fuel line from the filter , Then you remove the filter , you might have to twist the filter an pull a little if the locks do not release with the tool engauged,,, you slid the tool over the small part of the tube that sticks out from the filter , an push in into the bell that slids over the filter tubes ., this expands the lock inside the bell allowing you to remove the filter ,,, If you have a new filter in hand , you will see theres a ring around the filter tube , this ring is what keeps the locks engauged so the filter dont pop off as it under high pressure , the elongated c style lock you first removed is a added safety incase the innner lock fails,,, You said you owned 2 rangers before , what years ,,, Ford went to this style lock in the early 90's , before that they had the style that had plactic clips on the fuel line , on Fuel Injected Engines I have Worked on Fords for over 20 yrs. trust me on this ok .......
