Hi, Here’s some background on my issue. The check Engine light comes on with code P1518. This codes states that the IMRC is stuck open or closed. Either way, I realized I couldn’t fix it myself so I brought it in. After the mechanic changed three broken clips, sprayed some intake cleaner and replaced a gasket (probably for the intake), the light came back on even before leaving the garage. This repair cost over $400 dollars with labor. So before leaving, the mechanic suggested he would work out a deal on the labor and possibly parts, as he thinks the flaps in the intake are the problem and that the intake needs to be changed. All that said, I’m sure with a little effort on my part, the flaps can be “tamed”. I’m thinking that applying a Seafoam treatment through the right vacuum hose might fix the problem. Also, I’m sure a read somewhere that these flaps are accessible through the EGR port. Anyway, I’m not sure how to proceed and I’m not mechanically inclined so I’m looking for some advice. Specifically, which vacuum hose gets closest to the intake flaps so I can apply the Seafoam? I picture, if possible would be great. Thanks.
