98 Taurus V6 Flex Fuel... RMPs will slowly run away.. When on the highway- the car will slowly speed up on its own as if the gas pedal with slightly pressed. When I noticed it, I put the car in neutral and  the rmps slowly went up to about 4000 RPMs. The cruise control is not on. This is NOT a problem in town. Runs just fine.

Plug in diagnostic at car parts store did not show anything wrong..
I caved in & went to a dealer, let them check it out. I assumed that it was a sensor. But their diagnostic check showed all was fine ! Naturally when they test drove the car- they didnt notice any problem..(90 bucks later)...

IS it possible... That the car does NOT like to run on E-85 ? COULD the E-85 be causing this in my old Flex Fuel car ?  I just put 1/2 a tank of regular unleaded in BEFORE the dealer looked at the car.

*This is the same dealer that wants 70 dollars to replace the turnsignal flasher ... damn !

Thanks for your input.. Bill
