I have a 2003 Ford Ranger XLT, 2.3L 4 cyl. with a Check Engine Light on. It comes up with the code P2004(Intake Manifold Runner Control Stuck Open). I tried a repair shop and he tells me it would cost up to $76 to have it diagnostic. I was wondering if their was anybody out there that had the same problem and what I could do to fix it, if it is even possible for me to do it. It fails emmission so I totally need to get it fixed. Thanks

I do not know the 2.3L engine, however I have a 60 Freestar 4.2 with intake runners. Look along the intake manifold near the head for a small road running into the manifold and connected to a servo. The 4.2 has had problems with the plastic bushings wearing on the servo.
