Ok, all you Ranger mechanics, here is a question for you. I have a 2000 Ranger Supercab 4wd with a 4.0. Just out of the clear blue sky, the air conditioner started blowing hot air. I figured it needed a little shot of 134, so I put a can in and that did it. Or, so I thought. I started to work in it the next day and the air was cold, then it started blowing hot again. I noticed the temp guage was higher than I had ever seen it, almost, but not quite to the H reading. So, that afternoon, I blowed the radiator out with air and checked the 134 pressure on the air. It showed low, so I added another small can and it started blowing cold again. Next day, same thing. Started out fine, then air got warm and truck temp started  rising. It doesn''t get overheated, just running hotter than normal. I now have put in a new thermostat and flushed the system and added new anti-freeze. But something tells me that''s not going to fix my problem. What I want to know is, could the 2 problems be connected, or are they seperate problems? Any help or suggestions would be greatly aprreciated. I really don''t want to go to a great expense here, cause this truck has a 160,000 miles on it. It is my mail carrying truck, and has a rebuilt transmission, and a motor that has never used oil. It still runs and drives good, but I know the milage will catch up to it sooner than later. Thanks.

Low freon can cause an increase in temp as the A/C evaporator is in front of the radiator. It sounds as if you have a leak in the A/C, find some one with gauges and properly fill A/C with a 134 oil and sealant mix.
