Hiya!

I''''ve got an -96 Escort STW 1.8 TD, and a few weeks ago, a LOT of electrical problems arrived. To name a few, the oil pressure light stays on no matter what, I can take the keys off and it still stays on, the heater blower keeps blowing with the middle speed when the ignition is turned on, no matter which option is chosen from the blower speed control knob. Then there''''s some other problems like ABS light glowing despite my car doesn''''t have ABS system, glow plug light and SRS light stay on rather than going off after five secs.

I''''ve replaced the fuse / relaybox and it didn''''t help. I''''ve disconnected all relays, all relay box connectors but the main power cord and the cords connecting the blower, and it still keeps going on. I''''ve narrowed the fuses so there''''s only ONE fuse left, when the blower still keeps going on - and this is the SRS fuse, nothing else goes through that one.

There was a broken wire behind the instrument panel, but it didn''''t help when I fixed it. Besides that and some wires with bad insulation, I haven''''t found any other problems that could cause the blower motor to stay constantly on. And no, even if I take the connectors off from the blower motor, all the other problems still occur.

Thanks in advance for your help, I will appreciate it!

... And sorry for my bad language, I''''m from Finland and it''''s been a while since I took my english courses...

EDIT:
I started connecting the connectors, fuses and relays one by one. First, I put all the fuses, then all the wires, nothing happened here. Then I started inserting the relays (and diodes), and when I connected the diode between ignition relay and low beam relay, the cooler fan fuse blew. Then, I took the diode off and inserted the high beam relay, and poff, the engine management fuse blew. I don''t know about the diode, but the relay should mean something...

Wow...this is some thing I haven''t see...Have your Ignition Switch checked...if everything is stay on after you turn it off this is most likely your problem.
