I''ve disconnected and removed all of the components necessary to remove an R100 tranny on a ''98 Expy. My problem is the 2 uppermost bolts connected to the engine  block: one is right under the fuel line on the driver''s side and the other is by a bunched set of cables on the passenger side. The space is extremely tight. Anyone have any tips/treicks on how to remove these? Thanks.

OK, never mind. By lowering the tranny just enough (with a jack), I was able to get in there with an 18" ratchet extension and a universal joint. Pulled out the tranny and will install the new one tomorrow. Took a couple of pictures from front-to-back and vice-versa so that you can see the huge amount of space under there. The entire exhaust system has ben removed along with the transfer case and driveshafts. Now to put it all back in - oh joy...
