I have a 04 Escape with both front tone wheels broken. One will turn freely and shift cockeyed around the shaft it sits on. The other seems to stay in place. They both have a break in them. The one that stays in place seems to have a tack weld on it holding it in place. Antilock brakes go nuts with the tone wheel crooked like this. We straightened the crooked one out and test drove it. Seems to brake good with no antilock pulsing. Can''t we just tack weld the cockeyed one in place so it does not slip.
Also, how common is this. I have seen quite a few posts about this on the forum. It does not seem like a reasonably priced dealer fix either.
