i just got a 71 ford ltd country squire and i got it without a motor or trans and ive been searching  ebay all over for a set of clutch pedals mine was originally an automatic. ive got a 1966 289 and ive got a early 70s truck 302 bellhousing and a 5 speed out of a 87 f-100 and a 3.55 stump to go in the rearend and im trying to piece it all togethor. i was wandering what all other model years will fit or come close to fitting, the closest ive found is a set of pedals for a 71 torino

First - doesn''t a ''66 289 have five bolts to bolt on a 5-bolt bellhousing? Or is it like the ''67/''68 with six bolts to bolt on the bellhousing? I know it was changed sometime after ''64/''65 but I was a little fuzzy on exact date of the block change. Of course a short time later it was changed again into the 302 of the 70''s (except I''ve heard of 289''s running later in Mexico).

Is Country Squire a station wagon? At any rate many times manufacturers run two cars nearly identical on the same production line to improve output volume. If Mercury Grand Marquis ran in ''71 I believe that would be a match - but I''d check out a Hollander Interchange manual to confirm that.
