I got an 02 4x4, 4.0, and it tops out at 90mph also. I wondered same thing, why? dealer said, he could make it go faster, but would void warranty. Like the other guys said, with gas prices and danger, guess 90 will have to do. I just hate the idea of someone else deciding how fast i should and can go.

The Ranger is computer governed to 92mph by software. The govern can be lifted if the vehical is sent overseas. An overseas dealer has the software to reprogram the governer........Just need to find out how to get a copy....................
