I Have A 79 Ranchero With A 351m when its cold it starts right up like it supposed to. but if u drive it for a good 10-15 minutes then cut it off it will not start right back up.Does Anybody know what could be wrong i changed the ignition box and got another carb. im pretty sure its not vapor lock because it has plenty fuel i can hear it squirting out when i pump it under the hood.

Could be your coil , gets hot an breaks down, Also , the pickup in the dist , is another possibly. On your Ign module , did you clean the connections real good ?,,, Also on these ole girls they were bad about the wire insluation shrinking back , leaving bare wires touching , Causeing a temp short .,, On the dist. theres 3 wires I think at the base . pull that connecter apart an look at the terminals , the black wire is the ground , they were famous for going bad... http://www.autozone.com/servlet/UiBroker?UseCase=RG001&UserAction=beginRepairGuide

You said your sure its getting fuel. when it dont want to start , Pull a plug wire off an see if your getting spark ?? , Also dont rule out your fuel tank cap till you have checked it ,, I have seen them build up a vacuum, so bad that when you pulled off the cap , You could hear the tank expand ,, An 10-15 minutes would be about rite for the vacuum to bleed off by its self.,, These ole dura spark 2 ign. system are pretty easy to work on. Let us know what you find ..
