Ok, my ranger, which I call sir leaksalot, is blowing oil from the rear seals on the motor. should I keep the truck, or sell it and buy something better and newer, since I only paid about $500 for it, and it needs alot of other work to the body, and has a new water pump, head gasket, timing belt, and many other parts replaced on it, should I just sell it before it becomes a money pit or fix it up.

BTW, I've got a short bed, 2x4 truck with the 2.0L inline 4 cylinder engine, and 4 spd manual transmission. plus the clutch is kinda screwy too, and bugs me.

How much oil does it leak? If you have to add 1/2 a quart every 1,000 miles, thats no biggie.

Good sense of humor, you have!

Keep or fix? Condition plays a big part of this decision. Body needs work but what type of work? Is is rusted badly?

Mileage? Engine reliable and in good condition otherwise? Run compression test, etc. Analyze condition.

How much of the work can you do?

Most of these questions are objective but there can be subjective questions as well. Like what does leaks a lot mean to you emotionally?

Good luck.

I need to put new fenders on this thing, it needs a LOT of paint work, its got rust all over the place, and the engine makes me nervous going down the road.

I lack the tools to do the work on most of this myself.
