For the past couple weeks now my cars been revving at startup between 2000-3000rpm in a sort of fast rythm which leads me to believe either its misfiring or the fuel mix is bad...also every now and then (but getting worse and worse) when i first turn on the car and reverse to turn it around before pulling outa my driveway...and go from reverse to drive it just stalls on me and i have no idea why. A couple times like shortly after startup and driving for about 10 seconds it shifted itself into neutral when i hadnt even taken my foot off the gas at all or hit the shifter so i had to like brake and put it into park and back into drive again...which was more dangerous than anything. And finally now its started to like miss/hesitate when shifting like it'll rev before catching and accelerating when shifting...ANY advice would be greatly appreciated cuz i cant afford a new car and im in love with my scort!! thanks a ton!!!!

With All this going on , Is the Check Engine Lite Ever ON ??? If so I would get codes . The High Idle at cold start 2-3000RPM , leds Me to think you got a Major Vaccum leak. Get a can of carb cleaner an start the eng COLD , an spray around the intake manifold. If the Idle drops thats your leak. Seems I remember theres some plastic part on those motors that warp with heat.. As for the shifting ? I aint got a CLUE !!!!!!
