I have a 2001 Expidition and when I turn it off the air stays on and wears down the battery. Also when I drive my truck the radio will only play when the truck is in park. Also the windows will only roll down when the truck is in park. So when I am driving nothing will work. The battery is brand new just bought it. The problem stopped for a little while and now it is starting up again.
Help to anyone........

YEA, Well, Aint no easy Answer for that one , I would say take it to the nearest FORD dealer , their the only ones with good knowledge of the electrical system on that vechile, You might get lucky an start pulling wire harness, If it was a short you would be blowing fuses at least there would be something to go for !!!!

I was hoping for an easier answer. We had someone try and put in a tv they blew out everything. So I guess it should not suprise me. Thank you for the response.
The funny thing is if you unhook the battery for a while the car runs fine?
thank you

Are you saying they , were putting a Tv in the vechile , an it blew everything ??, If so is this about when you started having the other problems with the vechile , I was thinking about this Yesterday, An just kinda as a wild guess , My thoughts would be the Ignition Switch may be faulty [ not the key switch } their total differnt things , I had a old LTD a few months back , could been a year by now , He was having problems with the Radio an Some of his lites , turned out to be a back I ngition switch , that couldnt be adjusted , A good part of the juice in the cab runs thru the Ignition switch, Like your Ac , you cant turn it on till you turn on the Ignition switch , an Radio, other elec. stuff , That would be my guess

Thanks for the help I would love to take it back to the place that tried to install the tv. But it is in Florida and the car is now in North Carolina. (We bought the car in Florida and then moved.)
I think we are going to start with the first idea and then move on from there it was a good one we never even thought of the starting there.
Hopefull all goes well Thanks.......
