I am debating on what car to get. The 05-06 Mustang GTDeluxe is my top choice right now. I have been reading reviews on various sites. Anyone here that has been in one or have one, give a review with their most honest opinions. Likes and Dislikes.

I have read in these reviews is they complain about the noise, but what it sounds like, the noise they talk about is thr rumbling from the V8. well duh, that is why I want it, because it sounds like a muscle car. Is there any other noise issues?

Ok, quick rundown from my test-drive:

Very nice ride on factory susp. with good handling
"noise" sounds like a damn V8 should...kinda like the old muscle cars...but they ain't there yet...I'll still take my Mach1
Clutch a bit touchy but that could be just part of the new car smell
Good accl
Good interior room (this coming from a guy that's 6'8)
Nice Esthetics ie// it doesn't look like the Peanutmobile that they did in the late 90's

Thanks, So 6'8" and roomy. That is even better for me since I am 5'5". Yeah hopefully there will be more reviews. I notice this site isn't popular. I came from the Dodge Forum this same group owns and it is huge.

A buddy of mine has an '05 and when new it was really nice, no major problems. My only complaint would be the sloppyness of the stock shifter. I have since installed a steeda shifter, stiffend up the chassis a bit, lower control arms and a full exhaust and to say the least...the car is very fun to drive and very responsive. I think he has approx. $1900 in mods total and it's a totally different car. Much better launch, cornering and overall much more fun to drive even though in stock form it was very nice.


I forgot to mention that we did also install a K&N FIPK intake as well.

I am thinking in the next 5 months I will get it. I already am making a list of parts and prices. The short throw shifter was one that made the list. And the suspension kit and exhaust. Also looking at that Diablo Predator tuner. I have the superchatger on the list, um but that is a little too expensive at this point.

Myself, I would save to $$$ planned for the tuner and use it for something else. On a manual trans car, the effects of any chip/programmer/tunner are very slight, no matter what there claims are. As far as the supercharger goes, if you end up with the funds and decide to do...do it right, the pro-charger kit is by far the best. It comes with everything needed and by far has the best numbers and reliability. If your planning any engine mods besides the basic exhaust and intake, I would highly recommend a strut tower brace and frame connectors as a starting point before the engine mods are done.

Thanks, I was looking at the Ford Racing suspension kit. It comes with the strut tower brace. But the only thing it doesn't come with is rear shocks. I was also looking at teh roush and the saleen kits. They come with everythng except the strut tower brace. But I have that on my list as well. Also on my list is headers. Man, you don't know how exited I am with the though of buying the basic car and then adding on. I know I could just go get the Saleen or the Roush or wait for the GT500, but really not on my monthly bill budget. Plus I prefer not to have the body kit. I am not one that likes body kits. Also to me, it is the fun of saving for an item and then getting it installed. That is the fun part.

I will probably not go with any Roush parts since they seem to be the more expensive brand.

Myself, I also prefer the looks of the factory car over that of the saleen or roush. I also like the fact that I can choose what I want or do not want as I go. If you are not knoweldgable on the steeda products, I would recommend checking them out before you purchase suspension componets. I am not sure how they compare with the roush or saleen pricewise, but I do know that they perform very well. Not that the others don't, just have more experiance and knowledge on the steeda products. As far as the headers go, I would wait until the funds are available to do the compleat exhaust and would highly recommend full length headers as to the shortys. Many people go with the shortys because of price, only to kich tehmselves in the a** down the road when they figure out that the full length headers are what they really need/want. Also, if the funds are available, I would recommend having the headers jet-hot coated inside and out before installing. The jet-hot coating is EXCELLENT, it keeps the heat in the header where it belongs and will help to keep your underhood temps down quite a bit.

Thanks for the info. I have seen the Steeda products and have some of there stuff on my list but didn't know how they were. By the way when I say list what I have been doing is checking them all out this way I can see who has what and the prices they are offering at to get a comparison.

And thanks for the tips on the headers. I wasn't sure what to get as far as the shorties or the full length. Now aren't the shorties just for direct replacements, and give a little more oomph? And the full lengths, I think, I saw to get the cross piece connector? I could be wrong, but thought I read that somewhere. What is the jet-hot coating? is that similar to getting ceramic coating?
