97 explorer limited with climate control. Under the dash is a noise like a vent opening and closing every 5 seconds. When the AC is on it works great for 10 min then all the vents close and warm air comes out.

Any help would be great.

Thanks
John

Boy you like them hard huh ???? , Sounds like your climate control Vaccum valve has gone bad , Looking under the dash , Behind the temp. controls your going to find this plastic box lookin thing with small rubber hoses going to it. This is what opens an close's the doors an such, Also if you follow the lil hoses you will see they lead to various Vaccum chambers that open an close these doors , Now you need to figure out is the main vaccum bank have a crack in it ? , Or if one of the Chambers are leaking an closing the doors , Best thing you can do is get you small hand held vaccum pump, An be ready to stand on your head for many hours testing this thing . Probaly the best thing is to go to the local junk yard , Explain the problem , an see if they would allow you to TEST one of there Vaccum Bank on your vechile , With the agreement if it works you will buy it .

Could I remove each vaccum hose to find the bad door/vac leak, with climate control running. Then if it's no spacific door would it just be the vac valve itself?
Any guess on the cost of the valve?

The odds of finding a 97 limited in a junk yard would be slim.
It seen like every thing on a limited is different or cost more or both.

Thanks
John

Well , probaly aint that much diff in the climate control system , They usually dont re-do them for just a special model , due to the high cost , the buttons may be fancier but thats about it. There has been a problem with the blend door on lots of them. . an if look on the webIam sure you will find it , I know i got it somewhere , If I can find it , i'll post it here for you
