Sometimes when its wet out the throttle will stick on my 98 Expedition.....5.4L.

Ive tried pulling the IAC off but the bolts wont come loose.....and ive used TB cleaner in the intake, which seemed to help it. But it sucks because it sticks and idles at like 3000RPM.

Any Suggestions?

later,
Dustin

That's wierd, my explorer does the same thing, but thats only after having been on the highway for an extended period of time...it'll stick at like 1500 in gear and 2500 out...dunno, i've always just shut the dang ol' thing off and restarted it...seems to fix the problem...mind you, you may want to get yours fixed...mines too old to bother...

It has to be the IAC.

It did it yesterday when it wasnt wet, I started it up and it revved to 2700 or so, I smashed the pedal to the wood, let it bounce of the limiter, and let off and it almost stalled and began idleing at 800, like it should.

later,
Dustin

My 2000 did that. On the inside, the throttle cable goes inside a tube. Lay a towel down and spray some WD40 inside the tube. Dirt collects in the tube after time and flushing took care of my problem. For an extra measure, lube the tube on the back side of the fire wall and all other places the cable travels.
