mdbuffy -> Power Washed '99 4.6L Crown Vic engine - now blue smoke (9/13/2005 10:03:36 AM)
|
After all of the electrical equipment (except the plugs) in the engine compartment was covered with plastic so that the electrical equipment would not be subject to any water intrusion, the engine was power washed. After washing and blowing out as much water as possible out of the connectors and the plugs, the car started. However, it was missing (and the CHECK ENGINE light went on and off about three times and then came on and stayed on (and continues to stay on) and lacked power was driven and glided this way for about 3 miles (to get the car home) in the expectation that the engine heat would dry out the source of the problem. The engine would not run without missing until the second day after it had been washed when the engine ran without missing. However blue smoke (presumably oil burning) comes out of the passenger side exhaust pipe. What damage could I have done that is causing the blue smoke to come from one of the two exhaust pipes? How do I get rid of the CHECK ENGINE light? Thanks in advance.
