I have a 83 ranger with the stock 2.3 block bored 30 over. The head came from a turbo engine, don't know what year. I purchased a spare head from a 87 turbo T-Bird. I am in the process of porting the head and had cut it down .030. my question is are the heads the same when comparing a non-turbo to a turbo and how far can I cut it down. The truck is a daily driver....just wanted to get a few more ponies under the hood. I would like to keep the compression ratio around 10:1. I am having a hard time trying to find any web sights to give me this info and am not sure what the stock compression ratio is.....Any help would be greatly appreciated.
