I have a daily driver 83 ranger with a stock block bored .030 over (non turbo charged). The head on it now came from a turbo charged engine, but I don't know what year. The engine has ran for the past 3 years. I reciently purchased a head from a 87 turbo T-bird with the intent of porting it, smoothing the combustion chamber and installing a mild cam (Comp 260H). My question is, are the combustion chambers the same size when comparing a non-turbo to a turbo charged 2.3L? Also what is the stock compression ratio? The head I am proting has been shaved .030. I am shooting for a compression ratio of around 10:1. Am I close to my goal or did I cut it down too much? Any info or web sights would be greatly appreciated....THANKS!!!
