i have a 98 zx2 5spd .i am getting a loud squeal or cherpping sound at about 2k rpm,at idel, and when the engine is turned off..it`s not a belt or bearing. i believe its vacume related, pvc has been changed,.. the sound seems to be comming from the area where the pvc hose goes into the intake... HELP

I had the exact same prob on my 97 after I took apart the intake system. After this I could nto figure out the problem...even some of the most advanced mechanics were stumped!!

After coming to the conclusion that it was the pilot bearing, we dropped the trans and were ready to replace the clutch, rel. bearing etc.. Still after all this, the noise was still there. After simply turnign the valve around (I installed it backwards), the car ran normally again!!!
