ac92 -> Ranger audio help (8/26/2004 11:33:17 PM)

I have a Ranger ext. cab '03 and I am wanting to place a single sub in the cab. It is the model with the opening doors for the ext . cab[sm=youreright.gif] if that makes any sense. Anyhow,I don't want to tear my truck up doing any kind of custom work but maybe if anyone here has a similar truck with a box that cannot be seen thru the window.
I also need the ext. cab space for anyone who sits in back,so the stealthier the better. I have searched online and at local shops for custom boxes but all are for single cab and most tell me to have the back folding seats removed and put a big box into it.[sm=noooo.gif] So again if anyone has any advice that might be able to help me...please reply.

My plans:

single 10" and lots of power to push it.
custom box that will fit w/out tearing up my cab.
here is a quick mock up of the box I would like...hope it works

You can build a box to fit it easily but it will have to be custom made just make sure you get the airspace right. you may want to consider going with two 8 inch woofers. they require less space and you can make them hit harder than that one 10. No, your not going to get the loud booming bass of a 10 inch sub unless you want to spend some movey on the 8s. I have one Kicker L7 Solo Baric 8 in my ranger and people swear it is a pair of 10s. In your case, I would go with two 8s. Go to uscaraudio.com and look at some prices and also check out Ikesound.com. They will save you a lot of money if you can wait a couple of days to get your stuff. I got my sub from uscaraudio.com and it is great. Good Luck
