SPEED CONTROL FIRE - 
I have had problems with my speed control, speed indicator, horn, brake lights. Could not figure out what the problem was, then one day last week the brake lights shorted out and smoke came up from the hood. I opened the hood to find the same speed control that Ford has recalled on other trucks completey burned off. The local dealer same they could only replace it, but could not cover the cost because the excursion was not under the recall. Even though they admitted that they had seen other excursions with the same problem. I call Ford, but got only a run around. If you have an Excursion replace the sensor now before it burns up on you and also fries the computer control for the speed control. ( $ 600.00 to repaire )
